Cops de­tained over rob­bery

IPOH: Three po­lice per­son­nel, in­clud­ing a se­nior of­fi­cer, were ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of be­ing in­volved in a rob­bery at a house in Kam­pung Ra­pat on Wed­nes­day. An un­em­ployed man was also de­tained. They are be­ing re­manded un­til Jan 2 to fa­cil­i­tate in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Ipoh City deputy po­lice chief Supt Ab­dul Rani Alias said six men in a multi-pur­pose ve­hi­cle ar­rived at a house at about 2am and iden­ti­fied them­selves as po­lice­men.

“The in­trud­ers robbed the oc­cu­pants of RM12,300,” he said.

Ab­dul Rani said a 35-year-old po­lice­man from Ta­man Kle­bang Mu­tiara, Che­mor in Jalan Tun Sam­ban­than was ar­rested on the same day at about 12pm. A 27-year-old per­son­nel from Ta­man Wing Onn, a 43year-old se­nior of­fi­cer from Ta­man Ipoh and the 43-year-old un­em­ployed man were also picked up in the city cen­tre, Bukit Merah and Sun­gai Se­nam re­spec­tively be­tween 1pm and 3pm.
