I will abide by party’s decision, says Rajiv
PETALING JAYA: Incumbent Bukit Gasing assemblyman R. Rajiv will not contest as an independent if he is not nominated by DAP.
The first-term assemblyman said he is a party man and will respect and support whatever decision the party makes about his state seat.
“For now, it is still unknown whether I will be defending my seat or the party will be fielding someone else,” Rajiv said at a press conference after a brief walkabout in Jalan 17/10.
Rajiv rubbished claims that Petaling Jaya city councillor Terence Tan will be contesting for the Bukit Gasing seat.
“I know Tan very well and he has spoken to me. He says he has got no intention of contesting in the polls. So the claims are unfounded.”
On the walkabout, Rajiv said it was meant to create awareness about the common logo.
