DIPLOMATS’ FAMILIES RECALLED

The Sun (Malaysia) - - NEWS WITHOUT BORDERS -

OTTAWA: Canada is recalling the families of diplomats posted to Havana, the government said on Monday, as it continues to investigate “unusual health symptoms” affecting those assigned there. While there had been no new cases since the second half of last year, families returning to Canada had reported continued symptoms including dizziness, headaches and inability to concentrate, Global Affairs Canada said. In some cases, symptoms had appeared to “lessen in intensity, before reasserting themselves”. It said diplomats posted to Cuba would be unaccompanied by their families. – dpa
