Goldman Sachs must pay us back, says Guan Eng
GEORGE TOWN: Goldman Sachs should return the US$588 million it was paid for its work with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said yesterday.
“They must pay us back the money, not only the US$588 million but much more,” Lim said at a briefing on Budget 2019 here.
Goldman Sachs was reportedly paid the US$588m for raising bonds totalling US$6.5 billion for 1MDB in 2012 and 2013 (see also Sunbiz Page 9).
Meanwhile in PETALING JAYA, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang has voiced support for over its criticism of a Facebook post by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak denying he had lied about the RM2.6 billion found in his personal bank account.
“Let Najib reply to and every Opposition MP can take a stand when Parliament reconvenes next week,” Lim said on his blog yesterday.
