Hello, KL

Time Out Kuala Lumpur - - Contents - John Lim Editor-in-Chief @johneuhock

If you’re reading this from your couch (and flicking through Netflix) or while having your favourite meal at the same restaurant for the umpteenth time, we’ve got the perfect issue for you. Too often, we find ourselves doing the same old comfortable routine on the weekends. My Saturday afternoons typically start off with coffee, a cookbook and fantasies about cooking – which is nice, but every once in a while we need to go beyond our comfort zones. Why? Because those are the moments when you discover amazing places to visit, eat and drink, just as the TOKL team did while travelling beyond the city limits to areas like Banting, Tanjung Malim and Seremban in our food trip feature (p14).

We also talked to people in the Valley who’ve dared to change their careers in the hope of finding work that brings them joy and meaning to others (p22). In the process, it gave us something to think about while stuck in traffic, hoping we won’t be late for another appointment. Beyond our feature stories, we also checked out activities around KL that get your adrenaline levels pumped up (p39), examined bizarre ingredients in beauty products (p32), and discovered what goes on behind the scenes at the Good Vibes festival (p51).

Now get off that couch and go exploring.
