Do this

If you only do one thing this month, make it the Cooler Lumpur Festival (coolerlumpur.com) at Publika (Aug 17-20). Themed ‘Notes from the Future’ for its fifth installment, this multidisciplinary festival of ideas looks to the social, political, technological and cultural ideas that have become representative of these times and tell the story of our collective futures.

Drink this

MAZE (fb.com/MazeMalaysia) has received a new shipment of gins, some of which are rarely found in KL’s bars. Among them include Ableforth’s Bathtub gin, which won gold at this year’s World Gin Awards, and Ki No Bi, a Japanese gin known for its use of unusual botanicals like yuzu, gyokuro tea and sansho berries. Have them on their own, or with the fresh fruits available via the bar’s gin sum cart.

Catch this

The last time Datuk Sheila Majid (ticketcharge. com.my) graced the stage of Stadium Negara was back in 1991. Fast forward 16 years and she takes the same stage once again on August 5. Malaysia’s queen of jazz makes her grand return with a brand new album in tow, titled ‘Boneka’ – her first studio album in 13 years. Expect her to perform her latest tracks as well as favourites ‘Sinaran’, ‘Warna’, ‘Lagenda’ and many more.
