It takes more than just or­di­nary Per­anakan cuisine to wow Bangsar’s Telawi crowd, but Shel­ley Yu’s has done just that by serv­ing Per­anakan clas­sics like ikan goreng cili, ayam pongteh and telur dadar cincalok in a fun, mod­ern set­ting. What’s not tra­di­tional, how­ever, are its mod­ern cock­tails which have a dis­tinctly Malaysian in­flu­ence. Favourites in­clude the Bob Boy (Scotch whisky, Man­cino Rosso, tamarind) and Baba’s Kopi Kaw (cof­fee, brandy, Pernod, gula Me­laka).
