Time Out Malaysia Eating and Drinking Guide - - KL & SURROUNDS -

Aplace where you can’t go wrong in search for the best of Malaysian flavours. Living up to their tagline, ‘Flavours of Malaysia’, Grandmama’s Restaurant has been shortlisted as one of the finalists for the Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Tourism Awards 2014. It is definitely a must try whether you are a local or a tourist.

At Grandmama’s, the food is kept authentic with no short cuts when it comes to the preparation. Proud to flaunt the nation’s rich cultural heritage, their menu offerings consist of many recipes gathered from the Malay, Chinese and Indian style of cooking. The naming of the restaurant Grandmama’s, is based on the memories that we once had as a child which brings us back in time reminding us of our Queen of Cooking; which are our lovely grandmothers.

Grandmama’s restaurant features popular delicacies such as the Nasi Ayam Istimewa to bolder tastes such as the Sambal Petai Prawns. If you are more of a traditional type, their nasi lemak and teh tarik makes a classic combination as well. Also, do not to miss out on the varieties of curry hot pot that they offer, a recipe that has been secretly guarded for decades!

Grandmama’s is located on the 6th floor in Pavilion Shopping Mall. They are also available to receive bookings for private functions. Lot 6.01.02, Sixth floor, Pavilion KL, 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, KL (03 2143 9333). Daily, 10am–10pm.
