Time Out Malaysia Eating and Drinking Guide - - KL & SURROUNDS -

You’ve been shopping for hours and need a snack. Head to the sixth floor of Pavilion and take a stroll down Tokyo Street where the energy of Ginza and Shibuya has been transported to KL. Offering authentic Japanese cuisine, Tokyo Teppan and Tokyo Don are the perfect place to stop by and refuel on your next shopping trip to Pavilion.

Tokyo Teppan is a traditional teppanyaki restaurant where the chef’s kitchen and dining area blend together into one seamless space. It’s a simple, utilitarian space that attracts families and office workers alike. Sit at the teppanyaki counter and watch as your dishes are freshly prepared before your eyes. The salmon teppanyaki, Angus beef teppanyaki, and boneless chicken teppanyaki get rave reviews.

Tokyo Don is named for the donburi, a kind of bowl, and this is a reference to their signature dish. Tokyo Don serves the popular ‘rice in a bowl’ with over 20 permutations of the dish on the menu. Popular choices include tempura seafood, hokkai don with fresh salmon and roe on top of rice, oyakodon which pairs chicken, egg, and onion with rice, and gyudon or beef and onion over rice. Amongst these donburi dishes, their home-made tofu stands out for its tantalisingly eggy creaminess.

Situated side-by-side Tokyo Teppan and Tokyo Don allow the cross ordering of food, providing an extra variety of possibilities for diners wanting to enjoy a sumptuous wholesome Japanese meal.
