Time Out Malaysia Eating and Drinking Guide - - KL & SURROUNDS -

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral’s signature bar is ideally placed for meeting and mingling. Beside the lobby of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, this brightly decorated bar pops with colour. The bar area glows with cobalt blue from the neon signage on the wall while high-backed purple leather sofas offer comfy places to sit and relax on a night out with friends. Connect further at the common workstation with its plug points and complimentary wi-fi or get together for a friendly game of pool while you enjoy the sounds of Live@ Aloft Hotels (7pm onwards every Friday).

But it’s the cocktail menu here that really shines. Like Mai Bar upstairs, w xyz bar serves the hotel’s signature Malaysian Princess Mai Tai. Served here in a highball glass, this mix of dark and silver rums infused with blueberries and kaffir leaves is best appreciated in two stages. Try the traditional pink-hued Mai Tai before you add the separate portion of pineapple and orange juices and grenadine syrup. Other highlights on the menu include the Espresso Martini, Passion Fruit Pina Colada, and the traditional mojitos and margaritas, now served with an innovative twist – jellies made from the cocktail itself.

For mixing and mingling with comfort and convenience, w xyz bar is well placed and suitable for a range of casual gettogethers. Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, 5 Jalan Stesen Sentral, KL (03 2723 1188/www.alofthotels. com/kualalumpursentral).
