Four Seasons Langkawi
We don’t tend to connect the ultimate luxury of the Four Seasons with enjoyable family holidays, but this five-star resort is actually perfect for little travellers and offers some incredible experiences that you won’t find elsewhere.
Stay in the resort’s huge Family Beach House, which comes secluded in its own garden with a private plunge pool. The kids’ bedroom here comes with its own TV (no more fighting over cartoons or a movie) as well as a PS3 game console. But don’t think that the kids will spend all their time indoors in front of a screen: there are also board games, bicycles, beach toys and even a sandcastle-making kit.
Get out into the resort and there’s still more to do: the Kids For All Seasons Club will keep them busy with nature excursions, batik painting and even yoga; visit the watersports centre and get out on to the water for a spot of windsurfing, kayaking or paddle boarding; try out the resort’s natural limestone climbing wall or take the older kids to try archery; book the Mangroves & Monkeys Safari for an eco-education tailored to young, enquiring minds; or get your young culinary superstar into the kitchen with the resort’s Junior Masterchef activity. As of January 2015, kids can saddle up for a pony ride on the beach. Four Seasons has adopted 10-year-old Lucy, five-year-old Lirra, and baby Star, born in November 2014. A daily ‘Meet the Pony’ programme from 10am-10.30am allows kids to pet the ponies and learn all about them, while rides on the beach or in the garden can be organised in the morning or afternoon.
