Batik Painting @ Craft Complex
Komplex Kraft Kuala Lumpur, 63 Jalan Conlay, KL (03 2162 7459/www.kraftangan. gov.my). A must-visit spot for art-loving kids, the Craft Complex houses a huge display of local arts and crafts. Peruse rattan baskets, pottery, intricately woven songkets and beautiful batik fabric. Curious lil’ ones can have a go at batik painting under the watchful eyes of Craft Complex’s staff. Daily, 9am-6pm.
Caterpillar Stretching Imagination
15-2 & 15-3 Jalan Sri Hartamas 7, KL (03 6206 1364/www.caterpillar.com.my). Caterpillar’s safe, comforting environment makes it the perfect venue to throw kids and babies’ birthday parties. In addition, the centre specialises in movement and dance classes for both young and old. Samples of Caterpillar’s classes include the Kids Street Jazz for 6-11 year olds, Teen Street Jam for 11-18 year olds and belly dance classes for adults. Call to make an appointment.
The Clay Arts Studio

Prepare to get your hands dirty at The Clay Arts Studio, which offers pottery and claycrafting classes for adults and children. Youngsters are encouraged to explore their artistic side while parents are instructed on how to create functional items. Walk-in customers are offered one and a half hourlong trial classes.
