Time Out Malaysia Kids - - Eating Out -

Concourse Floor, Atria Shopping Gallery, Jalan SS22/23, Damansara Jaya (03 7731 9810/www.pizzolo. com.my). This spacious restaurant dishes up modern Italian cuisine and offers a stylish but family-friendly ambience. Although the menu brings together a number of premium ingredients such as lobster, truffles (plus the now ubiquitous truffle oil) and foie gras, our overall impression is that this is casual, comfort food. And of course, with a name like Pizzolo, the restaurant serves up some decent pizzas with interesting toppings like roasted lamb shoulder or sweet cranberry jam and savoury cheese. The kids are certainly not forgotten either. The concise kids’ menu sticks to tried-and-tested tummy pleasers like mac ‘n’ cheese, fish and chips, spaghetti with meatballs, and Nutella and cheese toasties, all washed down with a selection of mixed juices with names like Big Foot and Prince Charming. And for entertainment? The menu itself is thoughtfully covered with games and activities so young diners won’t be short of things to do. Child-friendly. Kids’ menu. High chairs available. Pushchair-friendly. Credit cards accepted. Daily, 10am-late. $$$

with colourful murals, barbecue menus handwritten on wood, and stools made from tires. You’re bound to find something on the menu that appeals to the kids – there are burgers, pasta, sandwiches, salads and some delicious homemade desserts (we can definitely recommend the chocolate cake with strawberry jam sauce), as well as fresh juices and smoothies that will be lapped right up by young diners. Ask about the tempting range of local Malaysian dishes, which weren’t available when we visited. Lie back and relax in a hammock as the kids play with the café’s range of games and toys like Star Wars Monopoly, Scrabble and Jenga. There’s even a bassinet for babies so everyone in the family is covered. Just don’t forget the mosquito repellent if you visit in the evening. Child-friendly. Daily, 9am-11pm. $$
