Pavilion is one of KL’s most iconic malls, but probably best suited for the older child or teenager. Their central atrium space hosts some of the city’s biggest holiday mall entertainment, such as rides, shows and music. For spectacle, Pavilion is one of the best. Conspicuously absent are children’s gyms or kid-friendly food and beverage options though. Teens seem to enjoy Tokyo Street on the sixth floor, which does a good job at representing some of the more intriguing aspects of Japanese shopping – like Daiso, a great source of arts and craft supplies, where everything is RM5. The mall is well run, and the Parkson department store parents’ room is good – if not very private. 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, KL (03 2118 8833/www.pavilion-kl.com).
