WATCH OUT FOR
Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon @ Sunway Lagoon
The first of its kind in Asia, this Nickelodeon-themed attraction will be set among the stone hills of Sunway Lagoon and will feature more than ten thrilling rides such as Hippo Valley, Monsoon 360 and Kubarango. Hit characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Spongebob Squarepants will be featured in themed shops and eateries. Also, not forgetting Nickelodeon’s trademark slime indulgence, where you’ll probably find out what it’s like to be covered in that gooey-looking slime.
Movie Animation Park Studios
MAPS is bringing the first animation theme park in Asia to our shores. Set over 20.8 hectares, MAPS aims to enchant its patrons with over 40 attractions, including 23 rides and shows. It will feature the likes of DreamWorks’s Adventure Zone, The Smurfs (Asia’s first Smurfs live animation attraction) and the Megamind Megadrop (Malaysia’s tallest drop tower at 20 storeys high), making this a must visit for theme parks enthusiasts.
20th Century Fox World @ Resorts World Genting
Resorts World Genting is one of the premier spots for theme park fanatics from all across the globe. However, its outdoor theme park is in the midst of a major makeover, with a 20th Century Fox-inspired theme park under construction. With blockbusters such as the ‘Ice Age’ series, the ‘Night at the Museum’ trilogy and the ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise under its belt, expect some of its glitz and glamour to rub off onto what could be Malaysia’s answer to Singapore’s Universal Studios.
