COIN BOXES

Time Out Malaysia Kids - - Shopping -

Max Value’s London telephone box (RM8.48) It reminds us of everyone’s favourite travelling Time Lord, Dr Who – what’s not to like?

Channeling its lookalike, The Tardis, this is one coin box that probably fits more inside than you’d expect.

It’s definitely tough. We had a lot of trouble pulling the plug out of the base so there are no worries here about the kids spending their savings too soon.

Boring – a nondescript plain, clear plastic box. It’s kiddy and colourful, but we suspect the bee’s wings are missing. But if it encourages kids to save money, why not?

There’s not a lot of space in this coin box. Given that it looks like the bee’s wings may have fallen off, we’re not so confident that this is a sturdy box for coins.

Boring – it comes in a plastic bag. The most attractive among the designs, though we wished we could eat it.

There’s really limited space in this coin box but perhaps it would be suitable for a really young kid.

It’s well-built and the cover stays on tight – you’ll need long fingernails to pull the cover out.
