Berjaya Times Square Hotel

1 Jalan Imbi, KL (03 2117 8000/ www.berjayaho An amusement park downstairs is a pretty good argument for bringing your family to stay at Berjaya Times Square. But we know a few more: namely, a superb and very central location; huge, spacious rooms designed with comfort in mind; dedicated kids’ menus; and a seriously impressive pool flanked by smaller kiddie-sized pools. Stay in the 2-Bedroom Deluxe room with its kitchenette and separate rooms for Mum and Dad and the kids, or go for the more stylish 2-Bedroom Suite which offers the same amenities with a more open plan design. The latter room deal also includes a quieter, more private breakfast experience at 7 Avenue. Both rooms offer the options of an extra bed or crib upon request. Ask the hotel about their family package deals which include entrance into Berjaya Times Square Theme Park.

Prince Hotel & Residence KL

4 Jalan Conlay, KL (03 2170 8888/ www.prince With spacious rooms and an excellent kids’ club, this hotel and residence is also very conveniently located beside Pavilion shopping mall and not far from KLCC either. The kids’ club is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm. With Playstations, play equipment, cable TV (with the Disney channel of course) and regular scheduled educational activities, the club will quickly become your little traveller’s favourite hangout. For longer stays and those who want more space (or access to useful amenities like microwaves or the washing machines on the tenth floor), there are serviced apartments available too.

Pullman Putrajaya

2 Jalan P5/5, Precinct 5, Putrajaya (03 8890 0000/www.pullmanputra A short drive from the airport, Pullman Putrajaya is a good choice for long layovers. Of course, its stunning architecture by the lake and quiet surroundings are plus points too. For younger children, there’s a pool, a mini playroom, a kids’ club; all the boxes are ticked. Older kids will like the games room with foosball, a pool table, table tennis and board games. If you have a console addict on your hands, there’s also a Wii room.

Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa

Persiaran Lagoon, Bandar Sunway, PJ (03 7492 8000/www.sunwayho The combination of hotel, mall and theme park is pretty much foolproof, in our humble opinion. The hotel’s swimming pool has a marvellous man-made waterfall while the adjacent Sunway Lagoon theme park features attractions like the world’s largest man-made surf beach and thrilling water rides in its Water Park. There’s also an Extreme Park, Wildlife Park, Amusement Park and Scream Park. Tired yet? The adjoining mall also has a skating rink, archery range, bowling alley, cinema, arcade and more. You’ll never hear complaints of boredom ever again.
