RGB & The Bean Hive

Time Out Malaysia Kids - - Clean eating for kids -

A full-fledged vegetarian café, RGB & The Bean Hive is tucked away in a residential area, almost hidden in a nondescript house in the middle of the buzzing city. There’s ample parking available, which will ease the process of transporting your strollers, bags and kids into the café. As soon as you’ve opened the door, you’ll be greeted by the aromatic scent of coffee and a counter of special cakes of the day. This feels very much like walking into someone’s home, especially with its kids’ play area, reading corner and board games.

This is a vegetarian eatery with a menu comprising burgers, pastas, wraps, sandwiches and cakes with an emphasis on ‘vegetarian food for meat eaters’, which is a terrific way to introduce your child to meat-free dishes like the eggplant pesto pasta or the McBroccoli, a burger patty made with cheese and broccoli. There isn’t a dedicated kid’s menu at the moment but portions are decent enough to share. End the meal with their signature coffee while the kids amuse themselves in the play area. 35 Jalan Damai, Kampung Datuk Keramat, KL (03 2181 1329/www. facebook.com/RatherGoodBeans). Daily, 10.30am-6.30pm. Halal.
