Berjaya Times Square Hotel

1 Jalan Imbi, KL (03 2117 8000/ www.berjayahotel.com/kualalumpur). An amusement park downstairs is a pretty good argument for bringing your family to stay at Berjaya Times Square. In addition to Berjaya Times Square’s superb, central location, the hotel boasts of huge, spacious rooms, a well-thought out kids’ menu, and a seriously impressive pool flanked by smaller kiddie-sized pools. Stay in the 2-Bedroom Deluxe room with a kitchenette and separate rooms, so Mum and Dad can have some time alone from the kids. Otherwise, opt for the stylish 2-Bedroom Suite, which offers the same amenities, but comes with a more open plan. The latter also includes a more private breakfast experience at 7 Avenue. Both rooms offer the options of an extra bed or crib upon request. Ask the hotel about their family package deals, which include entrance to Berjaya Times Square Theme Park or the Family Escapade Desa Water Park. Book a month ahead and enjoy up to 30 percent off the usual rates.

Pullman Putrajaya

2 Jalan P5/5, Precinct 5, Putrajaya (03 8890 0000/ www.pullmanputrajaya.com). A short drive from the airport, Pullman Putrajaya is an ideal choice for long layovers. Its location by the lake, stunning architecture and quiet surroundings are plus points too. Younger children are bound to get excited by the pool, the mini playroom and the kids’ club. Meanwhile, older kids will enjoy the game room offering foosball, pool, table tennis and board games. If you have a console addict on your hands, lead them to the Wii room.
