Berjaya Tioman Resort

Between Kampung Paya and Kampung Tekek (09 419 1000 / www.berjayahotel.com). Berjaya Resorts are admittedly a bit hit or miss, but the Tioman venue is exceptional. Spread over 200 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, the 18-hole golf course is much praised, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find numerous family-friendly activities in store. From jungle trekking and beach volleyball to table tennis and old-school arcade games, both indoor and outdoor activities are aplenty. Spacious, sturdy chalets, cute roaming cats and a gorgeous beach complete this great holiday spot.

Club Med Cherating

HVOM, 29th Mile, Jalan KuantanKemamam, Kuantan (09 581 9133/www.

clubmed.com.my). What can we say about Club Med’s childfriendly facilities that hasn’t already been said? Part of the famous French chain, this luxury resort employs an all-inclusive concept for food, lodgings, facilities, activities, games and shows. Billed as a ‘Holiday Package’, the resort is a village located in the heart of an 80-hectare tropical park with 4km of fine sandy beaches. No age group is left out with Baby Club Med open for the wee ones (four months to two years old), Petit Club Med for two to under-fours, and Mini Club Med for kids aged four to ten years. Teenagers are catered for as well with Club Med Passworld (open to those between the ages of 11 and 18). Don’t forget to pop by the turtle sanctuary next door to educate the young ones in marine conservation.
