Raisin’ the Roof

Time Out Malaysia Kids - - Eating Out -

Healthy is hip right now and to find a trendy café serving healthy food in a popular neighbourhood is always welcome. Raisin’ the Roof joins the existing #eatclean movement in KL with dining options ranging from brunch and sandwiches to salads, wraps, juice and desserts. The menu indicates if a dish is raw, vegan or gluten-free, which is very helpful for diners and kids with special diets.

Dairy-free options like almond milk and soy milk can be requested; we particularly liked that the soy milk complemented our housemade chocolate crunch granola – an appetising breakfast of buckwheat, coconut, chocolate chips and peanut butter. Kids and dessert lovers will be happy to know that the counter is filled with raw, vegan, gluten- and dairy-free options, including a range of nut butters and their house-made ‘Nice’ Cream, made without dairy, gluten, refined sugar or vegetable fat. 61 Jalan Medan Setia 1, Plaza Damansara, KL (03 2011 5313/ www.raisintheroof.com). Mon-Thu, 10am-8pm; Sat-Sun, 9am-6.30pm.
