Sticking out like a sore thumb in residential Taman Desa, GravyBaby’s glitzy façade screams Hollywood glam. Inside, faux marble countertops, wall-to-wall mirrors and director’s chairs sustain the impression of being on a movie set. The diverse Western menu takes time to peruse, especially because everything sounds scrumptious.
That being said, pies are the order of the day and, as the restaurant’s name implies, are doused in savoury gravy. It’s hard to go wrong with classic
comfort food such as the Chicken, Mushroom and Tarragon pie, but if you’re feeling adventurous, opt for non-traditional pies such as the Blue Cheese, Leek and Potato pie or the Pumpkin and Apricot Tagine. Quench your thirst with the Cucumber and Shah Alam hibiscus lemonade or the Strawberry Granola milkshake, and be sure to leave room for dessert – the White Chocolate Cake with raspberry and mascarpone is absolutely divine.
