Jalan Perdana, Kuala Lumpur (www. klbotanicalgarden.gov. my). This grande dame of city parks is the Perdana Botanical Garden (formerly known as Lake Gardens), which was opened in 1889 and covers 226 acres of verdant surrounds. You could easily spend an entire day here and the kids will really enjoy running around, exploring the different areas that are sectioned according to tree and plant species. There’s a large playground that will keep the younger ones busy, a deer enclosure, a jogging track and boat rides on the small lake. There’s also the option of renting space for parties at very reasonable rates.
