Level 56, Menara 3 Petronas, KLCC, KL (+603 2164 5084/www. noburestaurants.com). Only Nobuyuki Matsuhisa (aka Nobu-san) could gracefully pair precise Japanese techniques with the colours and zest of Peruvian cuisine. While most of the menu retains its original specials like toro tartare with caviar and the Nobu tacos, Chef Philip Leong has introduced welcomed Malaysian influences to the menu, seen in the Ice Kacang Nobu Style. The restaurant recently introduced Sky-High Teas featuring sweet and savoury offerings paired with matcha. Credit cards accepted. Mon-Fri, 12noon-2pm; Mon-Sat, 6-10.30pm; (Sky-High Tea) Sat-Sun, 2.304.30pm. $$$ (+603 4257 5555/fb.com/ MYJungWonBBQ). The allure of bulgogi or Koreanstyle barbecue lies in the communal experience. This restaurant is evocative of a quaint village, spruced up with a water wheel, koi pond, fairy lights and long wooden pavilions where you dine cross-legged. The dung sim ju mul ruk (grilled marinated sirloin) is doused in a sweet marinade (a combo of soy sauce, pear puree and sesame oil) and is seriously tasty. Child-friendly. Credit cards accepted. Daily, 10am-10pm. $$$
