18 Chin­gay Pa­rade

There is usu­ally a colour­ful Chin­gay Pa­rade that takes place to cel­e­brate the birthdays of Chi­nese deities. In ad­di­tion to per­for­mances by lion dance troupes, acro­batic teams will dis­play their skills. Mar­vel at the tra­di­tional act of bal­anc­ing a huge flag­pole on their fore­heads and chins.

25 Christ­mas Day

Chris­tians cel­e­brate the birth of Christ with masses and church ser­vices through­out the state. It’s usu­ally a merry af­fair with open houses, vis­it­ing with fam­ily and friends, bright dec­o­ra­tions, car­olling and gift ex­changes.

31 New Year’s Eve

As the year draws to a close, you’ll be spoilt for choice by the abun­dance of count­down celebrations, fire­work dis­plays as well as street par­ties held at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions all over the state.
