LOOK 796 Monoblade

Wheels Asia - - Let’s talk -

Taking a different approach to aerodynamics in the design of its new TT bike than most, Look focused on a lower range of wind angles, 0-10º, and decided that managing airflow is secondary to avoiding its initial disruption. Therefore the 796 is as skinny as UCI rules allow – an incredible 25mm at the headtube, downtube and seat-tube. The fork is equally scalpellike and houses an integrated V-brake. The frame is designed using airfoil shapes conceived by NACA, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, predessor to NASA and the boffins who pioneered supersonic flight. In the UK, and most other markets, the 796 is only sold as a frame kit, which includes the fork, headset, crankset, cockpit, pedals and seatpost. Complete bikes are available in France, such as this build with Shimano Ultegra Di2 and Mavic CXR 80 wheels which weighs 8.56kg with its pedals. www.lookcycle.com
