Zatashah recommends partnering with an organisation like KSK instead of going out blindly on your own. “There are safety and health issues, plus you don’t want to pack up food and the food is wasted,” she says. “Before a walk, you are oriented on safety and precautions, how you should behave on the street and there’s even an etiquette to giving food; you should approach them respectfully and talk to them at eye level.”

A great deal of thought goes on into the contents of the food sets. “For a balanced diet, we include protein and carbohydrates, as well as a fruit. For example, we don’t give apples to the elderly because some have no teeth.”
