Nothing like a hearty weekend indulgence
Having the pre-Monday blues? A hearty Sunday feast with the family should do the trick!
Aduplex penthouse turned Asian-Latino restaurant, Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar has definitely changed the brunch scene KL city. Perched on the highest floors of the WOLO Bukit Bintang in a Manhattan loft-inspired dining room, it’s only here will you see a giant catfish turn into char siew and nori seaweed sheets made into crispy taco shell, coated lightly with tempura batter then filled with plump seared salmon.
The dishes created are based on a sharing-style menu where Asian meets Latin American influences, featuring bold, punchy flavours that are familiar yet excitingly new, such as the Double-Boiled Chicken Soup With Prawn & Water Chestnut Dumpling, or the Twice-Cooked Crispy Duck Pancakes.
Mr Chew’s Sunday Brunch takes place only on Sundays from 12PM to 3PM for RM140++ per person, with every dish refillable. As you may already know, this is not your ordinary brunch; it comes with copious amounts of little plates that include Irish Oyster Egg Omelette On The Shell, Tempura Prawn Nori Taco, Mentaiko and Chilli Mayo, Wonton Chips with Prawn and Kimchi Cream, and Steamed Buns With Gochujang Chicken and Sesame Seeds, to name a few.
But that’s not all. There are also four other courses that come with this seemingly endless meal. A soup-and-dumpling course, three mains, two sides and a whopping six desserts. If that still doesn’t reel you in, maybe the sound of these dishes will: Braised Chicken on Rice, Grilled Pumpkin with Daun Kesom Vinaigrette, Cream Cheese Quesadilla with Assorted Fruit, Kalamansi Jivara Tart, and Steam Bun Sandwich Chocolate Ice-cream. These are just a few of the dishes that come with Mr Chew’s Brunch, so bring family and friends along to savour the food with you.
Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar is located at WOLO, Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 KL. It opens daily from 11.30am to 2.30pm and 5pm to 1am. Call 03-4065 0168 for reservations.
