This neighbourhood bar does it differently
Knowhere might look like your typical neighbourhood bar on the outside, but step in and be wowed by the striking decor inside. Its feature wall is hand-painted by 13 local artists while fairy lights deck the ceiling to create a warm and intimate vibe that makes it a great spot to dine and unwind.
Being both a bar and an eatery, its menu includes a generous offering of creative cocktails, mocktails and feasts.
We gave their two signatures a go: The Osmanthus Breeze cocktail, RM40, was a refreshing concoction of gin with Osmanthus syrup, apple juice, sours and cream cheese foam; while the Pandan Santan Colado mocktail, RM12, was a delicious mixture of pandan syrup, coconut milk, sours and egg white.
If you are feeling peckish with pals, the best option is the Sharing Platter, RM48.80, which offers variety – chicken wings, calamari, baby shrimps and wedges. Or try Knowhere Nachos, RM26.80, which comes with crispy corn tortillas layered with Knowhere sauce, guacamole, jalapeños, monty jack cheese and pulled roasted chicken.
What also piqued our interest was the Lime Cured Beef Tongue, RM26.80. After plucking up the courage to give it a go, we discovered the finely sliced pickled beef tongue was not chewy as expected. The onion chilli jam tartine also helped to elevate it to another level.
If you had to choose only one dish, go for their thin-crust pizzas. The Duck Confit Pizza, RM36.80, was a mix of onion marmalade, confit onion and duck confit while the Tomato Gala Pizza, RM26.80, had three kinds of tomatoes – sundried, semi-dried and cherry tomatoes. Knowhere is located at 50 Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. Call 010-220 2358 for more information.
The feature wall showcases artists’ interpretations of where they want to take the viewers to.
