The Orion Home’s Very First Child:

A Success Story

Women's Weekly (Malaysia) - - INSPIRE -

Growing up in Perlis, Zul spent his childhood more concerned about his next meal than going to school; he and his younger brother would often skip school just because they could. No one cared for them, except for a father who often left them behind to look for odd jobs.

That was until a concerned teacher caught on to their situation and contacted Budimas. They soon became one of the very first children to join the Budimas Orion Home. With shelter, care, and encouragement to do well, Zul thrived. While he was average in academics, he showed extraordinary talent in something else: art. His passion for it showed in the artworks he created. After working hard to obtain a good result in SPM, Zul was recently accepted into the Diploma in Fine Arts programme in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). “If possible, I would like to personally thank every donor who has contributed to Budimas,” he said. “You’ve given me a future that I wouldn’t even dream about before.”
