A col­lab­o­ra­tion to re­vive tra­di­tional Malay art forms with Pink Jambu, Te­nun Pa­hang Di­raja and The Ma­jes­tic Ho­tel Kuala Lumpur

Pink Jambu cel­e­brates its sil­ver ju­bilee with Te­nun Pa­hang Di­raja at The Ma­jes­tic Ho­tel Kuala Lumpur.

The Ma­jes­tic Ho­tel Kuala Lumpu r re­cently joined lux­ury batik house Pink Jambu in play­ing host to a se­lect group of guests for a spe­cial pro­mo­tion of Te­nun Pa­hang Di­raja ( royal wo­ven silk of Pa­hang). Pink Jambu is a quintessen­tially Malaysian brand launched by YM Tengku Ma­rina Ibrahim 25 years ago.

Grac­ing the event as the guest of hon­our was Ke­bawah Duli Yang Tera­mat Mu­lia Tengku Puan Pa­hang, Tunku Ha­j­jah Az­izah Ami­nah Maimu­nah Iskan­dariah, the royal con­sort to the Crown Prince of Pa­hang. Tengku Puan is the founder of Te­nun Pa­hang Di­raja, who has taken an ac­tive role in re­viv­ing this dy­ing art over the past 10 years.

HRH has also pub­lished a book — Te­nun Pa­hang Di­raja; Warisan, Tradisi dan Falsafah — that out­lines the her­itage, the tra­di­tion and the phi­los­o­phy of the ex­quis­ite art form.

Ac­cord­ing to Jeff Mong, the Gen­eral Man­ager of The Ma­jes­tic Ho­tel Kuala Lumpur: “It is only nat­u­ral that we should host this col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween Pink Jambu and Te­nun Pa­hang Di­raja as The Ma­jes­tic Ho­tel Kuala Lumpur stands proudly as an em­blem of the past in our mod­ern world. It is im­por­tant to help nur­ture our Malaysian her­itage and crafts­man­ship as a legacy for our fu­ture gen­er­a­tions.”
