Regina meets... Regina!

The local cast of Rock of Ages was in for a super surprise when they welcomed a very special guest − West End Rock of Ages' original cast member Jodie Jacobs. The local producers had no idea Ms Jacobs, who played the role of Regina for the entire West End run, was holidaying in Malta − she simply spotted the posters in Valletta and went along to watch. "We were excited to find out that Ms Jacobs was in the audience and absolutely thrilled to discover she really enjoyed the show!" says producer Wesley Ellul. "We've had fantastic reviews across the board since the show opened last month and we're looking forward to carrying on as Malta's longest-running musical for the rest of the summer."

After the show, Ms Jacobs congratulated the cast members including Rachel Fabri, who plays Regina in the Maltese production. "I loved meeting the original West End Regina − she was such fun and loved the show," she says. "What an honour!"

Rock of Ages is staged every week at the City Theatre in Valletta.
