BMX Malta celebrates its 30th anniversar­y

Between 8 and 10 July, BMX Malta celebrated its 30th anniversar­y with a BMX event entitled BMX Fest − summer edition. For this occasion Chris Agius, Parliament­ary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport was invited to unveil a plaque commemorat­ing this special anniversar­y. He was assisted by David Agius, Opposition Spokesman for Sport, John Zammit and Karl Naja, president and secretary respective­ly of BMX Malta, Dean Hili, mayor of Pembroke and Joe Bajada, general secretary of the Malta Cycling Federation. On the same occasion, an olive tree was planted next to the open BMX track.

During the event, which was also a fund-raising occasion, €500 were collected in donations. Various competitio­ns were organised during the three-day event.

Malta BMX would like to thank everyone who came by the track during the weekend to celebrate their 30th anniversar­y. They would also like to thank their sponsors Epic Bikes Malta, Wheel Wizard (Malta), Urban Jungle Malta, Bamboo Stores Surf Riot Boutique, Cafe Dickens and Forestals for making the event a success. Another big thanks goes also to Visage Sound Malta, Calleja Ltd, Malta Pepsi, Malta Alberta Group, The Free Way, Jump Street, Twistees Malta, Sport Malta, Blank, M.I.B. Crew RO, Frontline Events, Rebel Riders MC Malta, Pembroke Local Council and Prime Time Malta for making the opening party on Friday a one to remember, and also Jahh Roland, Carl Urban, Kaos Laughton, George Bugeja, Neil Fenech, Brogan Forace and JP Micallef for providing awesome tunes for the closing party.
