Easy vic­tory for Ze­j­tun over Zab­bar

In the first match of the BOV Sec­ond Divi­sion League played on Fri­day night at the Luxol Sta­dium, Ze­j­tun Corinthi­ans eas­ily beat Zab­bar St Pa­trick by three goals to nil.

Alan Tabone opened the scor­ing on 49 min­utes di­rect from a free kick while An­thony Ewu­rum dou­bled on 69 min­utes.

Tanaka Kumpei made cer­tain of the points with a break­away goal two min­utes from time.

Mgarr United and Birzeb­bu­gia fea­tured in a goal­less draw.

Sig­giewi and Qrendi also drew 11 in the first match at the Sirens Sta­dium.

Dasser Sam­mut opened the scor­ing for Qrendi but Shaun Bugeja man­aged to equalise for Sig­giewi.

In the first match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium, Swieqi de­feated At­tard by two goals to one.

Bruno Menezes and Rod­er­ick Taliana put Swieqi two goals ahead after just six min­utes shock­ing At­tard who man­aged to pull one back on 9 min­utes but Swieqi even missed a penalty in the sec­ond half.

In the sec­ond match at the Sirens Sta­dium, San Gwann also showed their met­tle when they smashed Gudja United by four goals to nil.

Nicky Mus­cat, Jan Tanti and a brace by Wil­liam Abeeb were enough for the Saints to reg­is­ter their first three points.

In a match be­tween two newly pro­moted sides, Marsaxlokk and Ghaxaq drew 1-1 at the Charles Abela Sta­dium.

Ser­gio Hili opened the scor­ing on 13 min­utes but Ghaxaq equalised at the very end through Juan Car­los Viera.

The sec­ond match at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium was a hot tem­pered af­fair be­tween Mel­lieha and St Ge­orge’s end­ing in yet an­other 2-2 draw.

Mel­lieha went ahead after just three min­utes through Wayne Chet­cuti but St Ge­orge’s, who also ended up with ten men equalised on 45 min­utes through Chike Eke.

Emer­son Amaira put St Ge­orge’s ahead on 74 min­utes but Shami­son Far­ru­gia equalised for Mel­lieha six min­utes later.

The Cospicua team also ended up with nine men just be­fore the end of the match.
