Her­itage Malta’s mu­se­ums open for free on World Tourism Day

Her­itage Malta will once again take part in the World Tourism Day, cel­e­brated on the 27th Septem­ber. On this oc­ca­sion Her­itage Malta will open some of its mu­se­ums and sites in Malta and in Gozo for free.

The mu­se­ums in Malta in­clude the Na­tional Mu­seum of Arche­ol­ogy in Val­letta, Għar Dalam in Birżeb­buġa, the In­quisi­tor’s Palace in Vit­to­riosa and the Do­mus Ro­mana in Ra­bat.

The Her­itage Malta mu­se­ums that will open for free in Gozo in­clude the Gozo Mu­seum of Arche­ol­ogy, the Gran Castello His­toric House, the Gozo Na­ture Mu­seum and the Old Prison. All these sites are located in the Ci­tadel.

The pur­pose of the World Tourism Day is to fos­ter aware­ness among the in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity of the im­por­tance of tourism and its so­cial, cul­tural, po­lit­i­cal and eco­nomic val­ues.
