Mo­tor­cy­clist in­jured af­ter be­ing hit by bricks that fell off truck

A mo­tor­cy­clist has been se­ri­ously in­jured in an ac­ci­dent that took place in Hal Far Road, yes­ter­day.

The man got hit by a num­ber of bricks that fell off from a truck. This was the sec­ond ac­ci­dent in less than 24 hours on the same road.

Po­lice, paramedics and the civil pro­tec­tion were seen on site to help the mo­tor­cy­clist.

In another in­ci­dent, a 59-yearold Ger­man man was se­ri­ously in­jured in a crash in Swieqi.

The po­lice said the ac­ci­dent took place at around 12.10pm in St An­drew’s Road.

The Ger­man man was driv­ing a BMW mo­tor­cy­cle, which had an im­pact with a Peu­geot car that was be­ing driven by a 20-yearold man from Gharghur. Both ve­hi­cles were be­ing driven in the di­rec­tion of St Ju­lian’s.

The Mal­tese man was un­in­jured. The Ger­man suf­fered se­ri­ous but non-life threat­en­ing in­juries.
