Mar­cus Motschen­bacher new CEO of Lufthansa Tech­nik Malta

Change at the top: The grad­u­ate in­dus­trial engi­neer Mar­cus Motschen­bacher, un­til now Di­rec­tor Net­work Sales & Cus­tomer Ser­vice for Lufthansa Tech­nik AG in Ham­burg, is the new CEO of Lufthansa Tech­nik Malta.

Mar­cus Motschen­bacher (44) re­places Stephan Drewes (52), who is now head­ing up the Pro­duc­tion Net­work Air­craft Base Main­te­nance for Lufthansa Tech­nik in Ham­burg. Stephan Drewes, a com­puter sci­ence grad­u­ate, had been CEO of Lufthansa Tech­nik Malta since 2011.

“Mar­cus Motschen­bacher is an in­ter­na­tion­ally ex­pe­ri­enced man­ager, and his ca­reer to date makes him ideally suited for this de­mand­ing task.

He is able to seam­lessly con­tinue the suc­cess­ful work of Stephan Drewes,” says Thomas Rueck­ert, Head of Air­craft Over­haul at Lufthansa Tech­nik.

“At the same time, I am de­lighted that Stephan Drewes, as head of the en­tire in­ter­na­tional pro­duc­tion net­work, will be mak­ing his com­pre­hen­sive ex­per­tise avail­able to us all.”

The Air­craft Over­haul divi­sion at Lufthansa Tech­nik is re­spon­si­ble for the over­haul and cabin mod­i­fi­ca­tion of com­mer­cial cus­tomers’

Air­bus and Boe­ing air­craft. The divi­sion has sites in Ger­many, Ire­land, Malta, Hun­gary, Bul­garia, Puerto Rico and the Philip­pines, and car­ries out more than 600 over­haul oper­a­tions on the C-Check scale or higher ev­ery year. In win­ter, the busiest pe­riod for over­hauls, the work­force of around 5,500 is at work on up to 40 over­haul lines.
