New EP from Canvas Wall
In anticipation of the long-awaited follow-up to their debut album, Thinking Out Loud, Indie pop rock four-piece Canvas Wall headed home to Malta to launch their new EP Mannekind last weekend, with a headline show at Funky Monkey on Manoel Island yesterday.
Formed 10 years ago by close friends Simon and Craig, the pair left the Mediterranean heat in order to carve out a place for themselves in London’s thriving music scene. There they joined forces with friends Dean and Matteo to form the band we know today.
The band have never lost sight of their humble beginnings back home, stating that “we have a lot to thank Malta for and we enjoy coming back to perform – any excuse to come home and we are there!”
With interviews lined up with Michael Bugeja, Radio 101 and XFM Radio, the boys are certainly going to be kept busy during their time there.
However, this won’t stop them from giving back to the place which first sparked Dean and Simon’s initial passion for music.
Whilst back in Malta, they will also travel to Santa Theresa Girls School to take part in a Stage Coach-led workshop that aims to encourage aspiring musicians and songwriters.
Holding true to their initial promise of producing diverse, genre-blending beats that appeal to a mixed bag of music-lovers, Canvas Wall enjoy dedicating time to the next generation in the hopes that they may inspire Malta’s musical export in years to come.
