Quin­tano Foods ap­points Busi­ness Man­ager

Quin­tano Foods, a sub­sidiary of the Far­sons Group and a leader in the mar­ket­ing and dis­tri­bu­tion of branded food prod­ucts, in­clud­ing Danone, Trop­i­cana, Quaker, Walk­ers, Bay­ern­land, Ribena, Ocean Spray, Calve’, Coop­er­lat and Mev­gal in its strong port­fo­lio, has re­cently ap­pointed Sean Portelli as Busi­ness Man­ager.

Work­ing closely with and re­port­ing to the Group Head of Food Busi­ness, John Bonello Ghio, Sean will be con­tribut­ing to the strate­gic devel­op­ment of the busi­ness. He will be lead­ing and co­or­di­nat­ing the im­ple­men­ta­tion of key ini­tia­tives and devel­op­ment pro­grammes whilst as­sum­ing re­spon­si­bil­ity for the daily op­er­a­tions of the com­pany.

“In his new role, Sean will lead and sup­port the com­mit­ted team at Quin­tano Foods, as well as con­tribut­ing to the growth of this im­por­tant sec­tor of the Far­sons Group’s port­fo­lio. This ap­point­ment is an­other step in the Group’s vi­sion to give added fo­cus to the en­tire food port­fo­lio be­sides the on­go­ing drive to strengthen its bev­er­age port­fo­lio,” said Mr Bonello Ghio. “Sean’s ex­pe­ri­ence in sales and mar­ket­ing as well as in busi­ness devel­op­ment place him in a good po­si­tion to take on this chal­leng­ing role as to­gether with our teams, we con­tinue to con­trib­ute to the growth strat­egy for this sec­tor and strive to achieve the de­sired re­sults.”

Quin­tano Foods is seek­ing to fur­ther con­sol­i­date its mar­ket po­si­tion by iden­ti­fy­ing, an­tic­i­pat­ing and sat­is­fy­ing con­sumer de­mands through con­stant brand devel­op­ment. It is seek­ing to do this by main­tain­ing a flex­i­ble com­pany struc­ture to be able to meet the pres­sures of the highly com­pet­i­tive mar­ket and to deal proac­tively with the dy­namic changes be­ing faced. The fo­cus and strat­egy for the food busi­ness within the Far­sons Group, par­tic­u­larly within Quin­tano Foods is sup­ported by the con­tin­ued in­vest­ment in the busi­ness and its peo­ple.

Mr Portelli is a grad­u­ate of the Univer­sity of Malta and has also been awarded a de­gree at ex­ec­u­tive masters’ level in busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion. He has worked in sales and mar­ket­ing with lo­cal com­pa­nies. Sean has led busi­ness re­struc­tur­ing projects aimed at en­hanc­ing busi­ness per­for­mance and worked with part­ners both lo­cally and in­ter­na­tion­ally.

Re­mark­ing on his new ap­point­ment, Mr Portelli said: “I am look­ing for­ward to this op­por­tu­nity to be work­ing with the com­mit­ted team at Quin­tano Foods to be able to take this com­pany to its next phase of growth in line with the Board’s vi­sion.”
