PN gov­ern­ment will raise pen­sions and re­move in­come tax on pen­sions

A Na­tion­al­ist Party in gov­ern­ment will in­crease pen­sions and elim­i­nate in­come tax on pen­sions in or­der for el­derly peo­ple to lead bet­ter lives, the Party said in a state­ment yes­ter­day to mark In­ter­na­tional Day of Older Peo­ple.

The PN also said that, in ad­di­tion, it will re­vise taxes paid by el­derly peo­ple on div­i­dends re­ceived from in­vest­ments in shares and pledged to give all medicines free of charge to el­derly peo­ple and in­crease sub­si­dies to fam­i­lies who rent out their prop­er­ties.

The state­ment was signed by shadow min­is­ter for so­cial pol­icy Paula Mif­sud Bon­nici and spokesman for the el­derly Robert Cu­ta­jar.
