Elec­toral Com­mis­sion plans train­ing for elec­tion per­son­nel

The Elec­toral Com­mis­sion re­minds all those in­ter­ested in at­tend­ing a short course in one of the cat­e­gories men­tioned be­low that it is re­ceiv­ing on­line ap­pli­ca­tions through its web­site.

On the day of the poll:

1. Polling Place Of­fi­cer, 2. Chair­per­son; and 3. Assistant Com­mis­sioner

Dur­ing the count­ing of bal­lot pa­pers:

4. Cal­cu­la­tor, 5. Se­nior Supervisor, 6. Supervisor; and 7. Count­ing Assistant It is ex­pected that each course would be spread over dif­fer­ent days and times. The courses shall be free of charge and be­sides stan­dard op­er­at­ing pro­ce­dures, com­mu­ni­ca­tion and lead­er­ship skills will also be ad­dressed. Those who suc­cess­fully com­plete a course will be granted pref­er­ence in se­lec­tion when the ac­tual calls for en­gage­ment are is­sued as an elec­tion ap­proaches.

In­ter­ested per­sons must ap­ply on­line through the Elec­toral Com­mis­sion’s web­site: www.elec­toral.gov.mt from to­day 3 Oc­to­ber to 31 Oc­to­ber. For au­then­ti­ca­tion pur­poses ap­pli­cants will need to be in pos­ses­sion of their Iden­tity Card and a valid email ad­dress dur­ing the ap­pli­ca­tion process.
