Ze­j­tun top stand­ings af­ter beat­ing Swieqi

Ze­j­tun Corinthi­ans rose to the top of the ta­ble with max­i­mum points from three games when they de­feated Swieqi by two goals to nil. Alan Tabone and Adrian Carabott scored on 31 and 68 min­utes re­spec­tively.

Zab­bar St Pa­trick also rose to third place with a 2-0 vic­tory over Mel­lieha at the Charles Abela Sta­dium. Shalon Di­a­cono opened the scor­ing on 20 min­utes fol­lowed by Jean Claude Ce­sare on the half hour mark.

In the first match at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium on Satur­day, San Gwann eas­ily beat St Ge­orge’s by three goals to one. Jan Tanti opened the scor­ing on 32 min­utes fol­lowed by Wil­liams Abeeb on 62 min­utes and Nezar Abouhaisa on 66 min­utes. Matthew Borg scored a con­so­la­tion goal for St Ge­orge’s on 84 min­utes.

Qrendi joined San Gwann in joint sec­ond place with a hard fought vic­tory over Marsaxlokk in the first match at the Luxol Sta­dium. Dhonatan San­tos da Hora scored the win­ning goal af­ter 51 min­utes.

Mgarr United reg­is­tered the first vic­tory of the cam­paign when they de­feated At­tard by three goals to one in the sec­ond match at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium. Lazar Doric opened the scor­ing with a quick brace on 40 and 43 min­utes with Mauro Gri­oli pulling one back for At­tard on the stroke of half time. Adam De­bat­tista made sure of the points four min­utes from time for Mgarr.

Sig­giewi reg­is­tered their first win of the cam­paign when they ham­mered Gudja United by four goals to nil. Di­dier Sohna scored twice on 7 and 18 min­utes fol­lowed by Eman Ci­ap­para on 59 and Sa­muel Vella on 81 min­utes.

In the Fri­day night match, Birzeb­buga beat Ghaxaq by two goals to one. Da­vide Mula scored for Ghaxaq on 15 min­utes but the South­seasiders re­versed the re­sult through a Keith Mus­cat penalty on 44 min­utes and a strike by Les­ley Cas­sar Jack­son on 51 min­utes.
