€750,000 Health Centre project in Kirkop unveiled
Health Minister Chris Fearne yesterday announced the launch of a project that will see a new health centre in Kirkop.
“This centre will be serve 25,000 residents in Kirkop and the surrounding area; Safi, Qrendi, Mqabba, Zurrieq and Luqa,” the Minister explained.
Currently, these residents are served by the Floriana health centre, he said.
“This project will cost around €750,000, and is expected to be complete by the end of next year.”
Mr Fearne said that a number of specialised clinics will be available within the centre, including a well baby clinic, vaccination services, a diabetes clinic, podiatrist services, physiotherapy, and family doctor services.
Minister Fearne spoke of the importance of community services, where a patient could receive the best possible care, and would have easy access to a number of services.
