‘Place of worship issue’ not linked with religion - St Paul’s Bay council
The St Paul’s Bay council yesterday insisted that its objection to having a place of worship for Muslims in the locality is not linked with religion, but that the issue was simply a matter of public order.
In a statement, the council said it wanted to clarify its position that recent matters which have arisen regarding a place of worship in the locality “are not in any way linked to issues of religion”.
The venue is unsuited to such use due to public order.
The Local Council of Saint Paul’s Bay affirmed its commitment to all the people of the locality and their diverse perspectives, opinions, and beliefs.
