Lawrence Darmanin Challenge Cup
The Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club (MARPSC) held their presentation for the winners of the Lawrence Darmanin Challenge Cup for 2015-16. This Challenge Cup awards the best shooters during their performance for 2015-16.
This Challenge Cup is in honour of the late President of MARPSC Lawrence Darmanin who had a great passion and continuously worked for the development of target shooting.
In the Air Pistol discipline, the winner was Eleanor Bezzina, followed by Raymond Cacciattolo and Stephen Vassallo.
In the Air Rifle discipline, the winner was Michael Xuereb, followed by Gianluca Azzopardi Spiteri and William Vella.
Eleanor Bezzina and Michael Xuereb were the overall winners who were presented with the Shield.
The tropies and shields were presented by Mrs Josianne Darmanin, widow of late Lawrence Darmanin, and their son Andre’ Darmanin.
The trophies were sponsored by Mr Geroge Cassar L.L.M.A.
First MARPSC competition for 2016-17
The Malta Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club started their league 2016-17 with their first competition on Saturday in both Air Pistol and Air Rifle disciplines.
It was held at the Larry Vella Hall indoor range in Bidnija. In both events the shooters had to shoot 60 shots in 1hr 15minutes.
The winner of the 10m Air Pistol event was Eleanor Bezzina classified as follows:
1st Eleanor Bezzina with 563 from 600 points
2nd Antoine Attard with 540 from 600 points
3rd Raymond Cacciattolo with 538 from 600 points
The winner of the 10m Air Rifle event was William Vella classified as follows:
1st William Vella with 588.9 from 654 points
2nd Gian Luca Azzopardi Spiteri with 588.3 from 654points
3rd Alison Formosa with 569.1 from 654 points
