Manoel Theatre set to benefit from around €1.2 million in EU funds

Malta Independent - - NEWS -

The Manoel Theatre is one of 10 cultural venues which will be eligible for EU funding, and it will benefit from €1.2 million in funds to be used on a project that will improve the experience of cultural events held there, the Department of Information said.

This project will provide an improved, high-quality experience to the patrons of the Manoel Theatre thanks to the implementation and installation of a new ventilation and acclimatisation system, which will replace the ventilation system that was installed back in 1811.

In addition to the climate control system, the roof, seating and floor of the same theatre will be revamped. By means of this investment, the theatre shall also benefit from improved acoustics and parquet flooring which are necessary for Malta’s only opera venue.
