No goals in top clash

In the top match of the week, Santa Lu­cia and Kalkara played out a goal­less draw in the first Mon­day night match at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium. Kirkop United handed Msida St Joseph their first de­feat of the sea­son beat­ing them 1-0 through a Dy­lan Rap­inett goal on 80 min­utes in the first match at the Charles Abela Sta­dium on Sun­day. Santa Ven­era Light­nings re­tained top spot in the ta­ble when they drew 1-1 against Xgha­jra Tor­na­dos in the sec­ond match at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium. Noel Tabone gave Xgha­jra the lead on 76 min­utes but Dan­jel Va­sic kept up his record of scor­ing in ev­ery game when he equalised on 89 min­utes. Zur­rieq notched up their sec­ond win of the cam­paign when they beat Marsaskala by two goals to nil with Marko Dim­itri­je­vic and Dy­lan Rap­inett scor­ing on 34 and 84 min­utes

Luqa St An­drews ham­mered Md­ina Knights to the tune of seven goals to nil in the first match at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium on Fri­day. The goals came from a hat trick by Lee Bal­dacchino and fur­ther strikes by Jason Good, Ly­don Sciber­ras, An­drea Vella and Andy Portelli.

Mtarfa de­feated Dingli Swal­lows 3-2 in their first win of the sea­son also at the Cen­te­nary Sta­dium on Fri­day.

Luke Galea put Dingli ahead from the penalty spot on 10 min­utes but Mtarfa made it 1-1 through Ali Afani on 38 min­utes. Luke Galea made it 2-1 on 49 min­utes but Mtarfa res­cued the match with a goal by Jamie Ge­orge Zam­mit three min­utes later and the win­ning strike by Chris­tian Schem­bri in added time.
