Conditional discharge for teenagers who had underage sex
Two teenagers – a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl – were charged yesterday for having had underage sex. Police were alerted to the case by the girl, who had initially claimed rape. It later transpired that the sex had been consensual.
The teenagers were arraigned by Police Inspector Joseph Busuttil.
The girl was found guilty but the court, taking her age into consideration, conditionally discharged her for three years.
The boy also admitted to the charge of underage sex. He was also given a three-year conditional discharge by Magistrate Monica Vella.
The case is being followed up by Agenzija Appogg.
Lawyer Marc Mifsud Cutajar appeared for the girl while Dr Peter Fenech appeared for the boy.
