Man seriously injured in hold-up in St Paul’s Bay
A man was seriously injured yesterday when he was held up by three men as he was on his way to work in St Paul’s Bay.
The man, a 47-year-old farmer from Mġarr, was on his way to his field when he was approached by three men who demanded money. An amount of cash which the police said is “substantial” was stolen.
The man was subsequently beaten up, but he was able to go to the police station in Mosta to report the incident.
He was later taken to hospital where he was found to be suffering from grievous injuries.
Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is conducting an inquiry.
