Aloysians seal the week­end with MHA Cup vic­tory

Aloysians Von Taine started their sea­son on a pos­i­tive note by claim­ing the MHA Cup com­pe­ti­tion in the men’s cat­e­gory. Still with a game in hand, Aloysians, who are still un­beaten this sea­son, claimed an im­por­tant vic­tory over Kaval­lieri RS2 to win the sec­ond com­pe­ti­tion, the MHA Cup, fol­low­ing their Super Cup ac­com­plish­ment.

The match against Kaval­lieri started on a flow­ing and bal­anced pace. Aloysians took mat­ters

in hand and dom­i­nated from the early stages with a solid and tal­ented per­for­mance. Kaval­lieri

tried to fight their way back into the game but Aloysians, led by their coach Matthew Mamo, kept the same stan­dards. Aloysians pro­duced a fine dis­play of hand­ball in the sec­ond half and went on to se­cure the Cup by beat­ing Kaval­lieri 36 - 26.

Fol­low­ing their suc­cess in the In­de­pen­dence Cup friendly tour­na­ment and the Super Cup, this was the third con­sec­u­tive cup claimed by Aloysians this sea­son.

Philip Mif­sud of Aloysians was the man of the match. Other matches Phoenix de­feated La Salle 26-23 in a match in which La Salle were lead­ing 12-10 at the in­ter­val.

Chris Ma­gro of La Salle was the man of the match.

In the other match, Luxol over­came HMS 31-17 after lead­ing 12-7 at the in­ter­val.

The player of the match here was Joseph Tanti.

In the women’s com­pe­ti­tion, La Salle de­feated Aloysians 27-24 with Brenda Mamo of Aloysians be­ing named as player of the match.
